3 Days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Nayapul from Pokhara and trek to Hille (1,500 m) 2 hours drive and 3 hours walk

This trip starts from Pokhara after breakfast and take private car/jeep/ bus to Nayapul. It is about 2-hours drive throughout the beautiful hills side. Nayapul is starting point to journey and trekking trail follow the Modi River valley to Birethanti. Birethati is entry point of Annapurna Conservation Area and you have to check yours trekking permits in Birethanti Check post. After that trekking trail heading left up to Hile throughout beautiful terrace rice field and local houses. There are plenty of local restaurants to stop for tea/coffee, Lunch, and Snacks along the trekking trail.

Day 02: Trekking to Ghorepani (2,820 m) 6 hours walk

Today is a comparatively difficult day than first day Trek. Because, this day have to walk about 6 hours continue ascending to Ghorepani. Trek to Ghorepani from Hile is quite challenging for first time trekkers but trekkers can enjoy with hill and Mountain View and walking through Magar Village and Green forest. There are also plenty of local restaurants to stop for tea/coffee, Lunch, and Snacks along the trekking trail. But we are suggested to you, you have to take minimum 2 liter water with you for enough drink water because you will get sweat during the walking ascent.

Day 03: Morning hiking up to Poon Hill (3210 m) and trek back to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara. Total 8 hours walk and 2 hrs drive

Today is the mission day of the trek, so all trekkers will have early weak up and walk to Poon Hill (3210 m) for sunrise view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain ranges. This morning you only take a small bag filled with a bottle of water, an energy bar, camera some local currency. Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill is takes hours and half and trekking trail is stone made steps through the small forest. After incredible time at Poon Hill, recently back to Ghorepani for Breakfast. After breakfast, trekking journey continue back descent to Nayapul to catch vehicles for driving to Pokhara. 

4 Days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Nayapul (45km) and trek to Tikhedhunga (1500m), 1:30 hrs drive and 3 hrs walk. Overnight in Tea-house
Day 02: Trek to Ghorepani (2870m) 6 hrs walk. Overnight in tea-house
Day 03: Trek to Ghandruk (1920m) early morning hike up to Poon Hill for sunrise view of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. Total 8 hrs walk, Overnight in Tea-house
Day 04: Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. 4 hrs walk and 1:30 hrs drive.

5 Days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek itinerary

6 Days Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Pokhara (850 m) , 6/7 hours 

Have to leave early in the morning after breakfast from Kathmandu hotel and road heading along river valleys, few town, terraced fields and green hilly scenery to Pokhara. You will take a rest in Pokhara hotel for next trekking day. Overnight at hotel

Day 02: Drive to Nayapul from Pokhara and trek to Hille (1,500 m) 2 hours drive and 3 hours walk

Day 04: Hike up to Poon Hill for Sunrise Views and Trek to Tadapani  (2630 m), Total 6/7 hours walk 

Today is the mission day of the trek, so all trekkers will have early weak up and walk to Poon Hill (3210 m) for sunrise view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain ranges. There is Approx. 1.30 hour hiking trail and Distance is approx. 2 km. After incredible time at Poon Hill, recently back to Ghorepani for Breakfast and trekking trail in heading to Tadapani through rhododendron forests. Some time can able to see some wild animals, such as langur monkeys climbing through the trees and deers. There are excellent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare from Tadapani. Overnight in tea house

Day  05: Tadapani to Ghandruk  (1940 M) 3 Hours walk

That day is short trekking day of the whole trek so you will have late breakfast with Annapurna South and Machhapuchre mountain views and Trek to Ghandruk (1970m). You will arrive quite early so we have a good time to explore this interesting Gurung village. Overnight in tea house

Day 06: Ghandruk to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. 4 hours walk and 2 hours drive 

That day is end of the trekking day so you will enjoy a final downhill walk through forests, beautiful terrace farm land and villages for about 4 hours to Nayapul. From there you will catch the vehicle transfer to Pokhara. Pokhara is beautiful city where this trek ends and you can enjoy a shower good food and relax on this stunning touristic city.

Permits for Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Regarding of your itinerary, you need 2 permits for the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. Because this treks is lies in Annapurna Conservation Area.
These are:
-Annapurna Conservation Area entry Permit (ACAP)
-Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS)

Those two permits can buy ether from registered trekking company or Tourism Board (Bhrikuti Mandap). Our government has instilling these two permits for Annapurna Circuit Trek from Kathmandu and Pokhara. Those two permits you have to take yourself during the whole trek and have to show on the every check post along the Annapurna Circuit Trek. If you are going there without trekking permits, you have to buy from there with double charge (penalty) or you may have turn back.
