Trekking Permit Fees in Nepal -2026

Trekking permits are required for all trekkers in the Nepal Himalayas, regardless of the route, as most trekking areas fall within national parks, conservation areas, wildlife reserves, hunting reserves, and local village regions. Permit requirements vary depending on the trekking region, the trekker’s nationality, and age.

All trekking permits are intended to regulate tourism, ensure trekkers’ safety, and support conservation efforts. Permits must be obtained through authorized local trekking agencies, and some permits are issued by the Department of Immigration in Nepal through registered trekking agencies. All required permits must be issued before starting the trek.

Some trekking regions require national park entrance permits, such as Everest, Langtang, and Makalu, while others require conservation area permits, including Annapurna, Manaslu, and Gaurishankar. Certain regions also require local village entrance permits. In addition, restricted areas require special permits, such as Kanchenjunga, Manaslu, Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo, Limi Valley, and other similar regions.

For example:

Annapurna Region: Trekking permits such as the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) card are usually required.
Everest Region: Trekkers typically need a Sagarmatha National Park entry permit and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Gaupalika entrance permit.
Langtang Region: The Langtang National Park entry permit and TIMS card are generally necessary.

Restricted Regions

Restricted areas are required Special permits and you have needed to travel with a licensed guide. These permits are issued by local trekking agencies through the immigration of Government authorities. 

A trekking permit is a must to travel to controlled areas mentioned below. Permit, however, is issued only to groups. Individual trekkers will not be issued trekking permit. all these trekking Permit must be obtained from the Department of Immigration, Kalikasthan, Kathmandu.
