Overview

Trekking in the Everest region, located in the north-east Himalayas of Nepal, is a dream for many adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers from all around the world. This region is famous for its surprising landscapes, dramatic mountain scenery, rich culture, and warm hospitality of the local Sherpa people. The most famous trekking route in the Everest region is the Everest Base Camp trek, but there are several other trekking options available as well.

Situated in the north eastern part of Nepal, Everest Region also known as the Khumbu region is one of the most adventurous areas in the world. Mount Everest is the world's highest mountain (8848 m). During the Everest Region Trekking, you’ll not only get to enjoy the breathtaking view of the highest peak in the world, Mount Everest (8848.88m) but also you will get to explore the beauty and majestic views of the mountains Ama Dablam, Pumori, Lobuche, Island Peak and many more. There are many trekking routes namely Everest Base Camp Trek, Cho La Pass Trek, Renjo La Pass Trek, Everest Easy Trek, and Everest View Trek in this region. Most of the trekking start from Lukla after a scenic flight from Kathmandu but trekking from Jiri or Phaplu by road transport is also possible which requires an extra week of time. Everest Base Camp Trek goes from Lukla to Phakding and then to the Sherpa Capital, Namche, and then to Tengboche to Dingboche to Base Camp and Kalapathar. Another popular route includes the majestic Gokyo Lake which will involve passing the challenging and beautiful Cho La Pass. The trekking days may be tough if you experience altitude mountain sickness. You need to take enough rest and acclimatize throughout the trek. Guide and porters are therefore required for easy and safe trekking. If you have previous trekking experience and knowledge about the route, you can trek on your own. But you need to be careful with any circumstances that may arise during the trek. Good physical fitness with about 5 to 6 hours of walking ability per day is necessary. Everest is trekked by around forty thousand trekkers every year, which number is gradually increasing. 

The best time for these treks are the spring season (March to May) and the autumn season (September to November). It is possible, but more difficult in winter season due to the cold weather and snow. How difficult is Everest Trekking?

There are many different trekking destinations so it is suitable for most of the trekkers of regular fitness level. All the trekking routes have different itineraries and elevations. So, the difficulty levels of the Everest trekking are Easy, Moderate and   Challenging. The highest elevation is 5550 meters at Kalapathar and longest trek itinerary is 18 days Everest Three high Passes Trek in the Everest region.  If you are worried about trekking in Everest Region, you should do exercises like day hiking, cycling, walking and jogging before the trek.  Per day walking hours is 4 to 8 and walk ascends and descends with guide. Our guides are long years experience and they makes same pace during the trekking. It helps to walk more flexible and relaxing so you will feel good physical condition as well as you acclimates very fast with local environment.

Best Time to Everest Trekking 

The time and season are important matter for all trekkers so it is necessary to choose best time for the Everest Trekking. The best time to Everest Trekking is in the autumn season (September to December) and spring seasons (February to May) in Nepal but you can do any time of the year. Mountain weathers is changeable in Nepal so you have to choose the best recommended season and months for Everest trekking. This time is favorable weather is sunny and warm with wonderful surrounding mountains views, compare with other trekking season.

If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some alone time with nature and culture, you can do Everest Trekking during the winter and summer season but the temperature during winter could be cold for most trekkers and very humid in summer season.
